FIVA Valve
Valve for optimizing fuel injection and exhaust valve control actuation over the entire load range.
In ME engines from MAN Energy Solutions, one FIVA Valve is installed per cylinder and controls the timing and quantity of fuel injection in combination with the drive timing of the exhaust valve. This product supports electronic control of the engine and optimizes fuel injection and exhaust valve control making the FIVA Valve and attractive solution that complies with environmental regulations.

Condition monitoring function implemented in FIVA controller
For condition check, internal leakage can only be measured when visiting the vessel. This measurement has a duration of around 8 hours. As a solution, we provide a function that estimates the amount of internal leakage from the signal taken into the FIVA valve. In turn we can present the recommended maintenance status via LED display. This function is implemented within the valve controller without the need to install additional equipment.
Commercialized condition monitoring box for condition-based maintenance (CBM)
Equipping the CBM enables the condition of vital components such as the proportional control valve to be monitored. Analyzing acquired data from the CBM using our unique algorithm predicts valve deterioration and abnormalities enabling maintenance at the optimal opportunity. Data acquired on board the ship can also be viewed on-shore by ship-land communication.

Electric Governor System
A governor for a marine propulsion engine speed, it achieves optimal control according to the operating conditions. A Governor system for the main engine to maintain desired speed with optimized control under all operating conditions.

Stable control by governor
The electric governor system maintains constant rotation speed of the main engine. Control parameters such as PID constants are determined according to the operating conditions. The operation mode is selected to achieve optimized and stable control over a varying range of speeds and loads.
Help control excessive fuel input
“Fuel-Saving Governor System” has been developed to further minimize excessive fuel injection by allowing tolerable rotational speed fluctuations according to additional preset conditions. This optional specification proves to be very popular with many customers.
