Demonstrate the optimization of fuel consumption achieved through the combination of TELEGRAPH AGENT™ and Cassandra

A marine control systems company of Nabtesco Corporation (headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Kazumasa Kimura), reports that TELEGRAPH AGENT^TM, which was launched last year, has been installed on the car carrier vessel “Malaysia Grace,” owned by Eastern Car Liner Co., Ltd. (managed by ECL Ship Management Co., Ltd.). This installation has demonstrated an optimization of fuel consumption by 3.4%* (on routes in Asia, the Middle East, and Oceania) while maintaining a constant vessel speed.

Additionally, in this case, Cassandra, an AI monitoring system developed by DeepSea, has been installed simultaneously to maximize the benefits derived from TELEGRAPH AGENT^TM. Eastern Car Liner Co., Ltd. plans to further install TELEGRAPH AGENT^TM and Cassandra due to the positive results of this demonstration. *This fuel economy improvement is recognized based on 10 days test of on and off of TELEGRAPH AGENT^TM for every 3 hours.  Based on the customer’s conventional operational profile we calculate the average speed at 17.0 knots at ON and number of evolution of the engine at OFF.
